I have been reading a new book this week, all about household cleaning, and cleaning schedules. It's called "Speed Cleaning" and it's written by Shannon Lush and Jennifer Fleming, Aussie stain removal gurus.
I really love the simple advice in this book, mostly common sense, but stuff I have never really got the hang of. The cleaning agents recommended are cheap and healthier, primarily vinegar and bicarb soda, a definite plus in my asthmatic household. The fifteen minute claim is a bit of a stretch, on page 5 they then say to add an extra 10 - 15 minutes for each extra person in your house, as extra people mean extra mess. Dang those loopholes! This is a great book, but I have only one complaint : I've had the book five days, and my house is still not clean!

I've got to look for this book - cleaning does not come naturally to me. And I'd love to use cheaper and more natural cleaning products.
I like the idea! I'm trying to get myself on a more set schedule and so far I've stuck with it. Let's see how long it lasts...
LOL I think I need to check out this book. I could definitely use some help in the cleaning department and would love to find some better products to use.
LOL Man-I think I need to add an extra hour per person for these people I live with.
Ha! so that's an hour and a quarter every day for our family of five, if my 5x15 calculations are right?!
Um, I think I could probably keep the house better than spotless if I had time to do nothing but clean for an entire hour and a quarter EVERY day!!!
Still, I would probably buy this one too - there are definitely great gaping holes in my housekeeping education. And I love the idea of making more use of vinegar and baking soda...
