Here are some more photos of our walk along the river.

We brought bread to feed the geese, and were delighted to discover two charming little goslings!
Fruit bats congregate together in a tree during the day to rest. It doesn't sound like much sleeping goes on! There are literally hundreds of bats all screeching and jostling for space in the overburdened tree.
An egret.

More wonderful photos! I'm a sucker for goslings - but those bats are kind of freaking me out, eek!

Oh wow...cool pictures! The bat one kind of freaks me out though...I'm just envisioning all those bats waking up and taking off together. Yikes! LOL

Those are gorgeous pictures Emma! The bats are kind of freaky though LOL ;). My friend in Sydney said they just got a lot of storms last week--I'm sorry to hear the rain isn't making it where it needs to be. ((hugs))

OK, I confess I am laughing at you all about the fruit bats. I could tell you some stories!! They are everywhere in Queensland, and I actually love seeing them fly over at night. I don't feel the love when they are dropping mangoes on the roof in the middle of the night, though!
